This year marks the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, a time to reassess the UN’s role in the world. On Tuesday June 16, 2020, join us for a UN75 Zoom dialogue on climate change.
UN75 is an opportunity to focus on three core questions.
- What kind of future do we want to create?
- How do we get on track to secure that future?
- What specific and new actions are needed by the UN?
The invited speakers for this UN75 Dialogue represent a diverse array of organizations; they are directly involved in community resilience programs while seeking to restore a reciprocal relationship with Mother Earth. Their work collectively contributes to greater harmony within local ecosystems, both social and environmental, while remaining keenly aware of the positive implications for the global context. We have invited them to share both their unique perspectives and professional work in the context of how a repositioned UN development system can better assist their efforts to create resilient, low-carbon communities. We also encourage them to discuss their thoughts on how we can more effectively implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This dialogue is organized by the Global NGO Executive Committee (http://globalngoexecom.org), formerly the NGO DPI Executive Committee (http://ngodpiexecom.org).
