African Union Office of the Youth Envoy (OYE) is releasing the Intergenerational Dialogues Brochure and Toolkit for Co-Leadership.

In 2020, the average age of the African leadership is 64 years old and the average age of the population is about 20. Conflict on the continent is aggravated by the lack of communication and collaboration between generations. The generation that fought for independence; the generation that built the African nation and the current youthful population that navigates a world of continued violence and inequality. However, Young people are connected, better educated, tech-savvy, full of potential and ready to CO-LEAD!

Today we make available IGD Toolkit for youth to self-organize as part of 100 Intergenerational Dialogues #100IGD across and beyond Africa to bridge social, cultural and political differences between generations and thereby address both current and emerging conflict patterns.

Our Theory of Change is Intergenerational Co-Leadership, Join Us!

The initiative inculcates Agenda 2063’s emphasis on social dialogues for peace and sustains OYE’s Strategic Action Plan to build bridges and address barriers to youth leadership.

IGD Brochure and toolkit is available here.
