Details

Structural violence arises when social, economic, and political systems are organized in ways that prevent individuals from meeting basic needs or exercising their rights. Older persons, particularly older women, face structural violence in employment, healthcare, and financial systems, compounded by crises such as conflict and climate change. This webinar will explore the gendered dimensions of structural violence and highlight the data gap and invisibility of older women’s experiences. It will contribute to ongoing global efforts, including the drafting of legally binding instrument on the rights of older persons, by bringing forward expert insights and policy recommendations.

Please note that the meeting is in English and will be recorded.
