Biographies

Liberato Bautista is President of the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO). He has been serving for the past 25 years as the main representative to the United Nations worldwide for the public policy and social justice agency General Board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church. Bautista studied political science, history, and international studies at the University of the Philippines in Manila which in 2000 awarded him the “Most Outstanding Alumnus in the Social Sciences.” His doctoral studies at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey focused on religion and social and political ethics. He was awarded the Doctor of Divinity, honoris causa, by Union Theological Seminary in the Philippines in 2016. Bautista teaches, writes and lectures extensively in a variety of fields.

Helga Konrad is Executive Director Anti-Trafficking at the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe, in Vienna and Head/ Coordinator of the ‘Regional Implementation Initiative on Preventing and Combating Human Trafficking, working on the issue for more than 20 years at national and international levels in various functions – as expert, manager, parliamentarian and executive politician. In her Capacity as first Special Representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe she has established the ‘Alliance against Trafficking in Person’. She was chair of the EU Stability Pact Task Force on Human Trafficking for Southeastern Europe. In her capacity as Austrian Federal Government Minister for Women she hosted the 1st EU Conference on Trafficking in Women for Sexual Exploitation in 1995. She was head of the Austrian government delegations to the UN World Conference on Women in Beijing/China and the 1st World Congress on Combating Commercial Sexual Exploitation of children in Stockholm/Sweden, 1996.

Jojo Mehta co-founded Stop Ecocide in 2017, alongside barrister and legal pioneer the late Polly Higgins, to support the establishment of ecocide as a crime at the International Criminal Court.  As key spokesperson and Executive Director of Stop Ecocide International, Jojo has overseen the remarkable growth of the movement (teams in 15 countries, websites in 9 languages) while coordinating between legal developments, diplomatic traction and public narrative.She is Chair of the charitable Stop Ecocide Foundation and convenor of the Independent Expert Panel for the Legal Definition of Ecocide chaired by Philippe Sands QC and Dior Fall Sow. Jojo is a graduate of Oxford and London universities and has a background in communications, entrepreneurship and on-the-ground environmental campaigning.

Francesca Rispoli is a member of the national board of Libera NGO and research fellow at the University of Pisa, where she held the Ph.D. in Political Science and the II level Master in Analysis, Prevention and Contrast of Organized Crime and Corruption. She has carried out for Libera several researches on perception of organized crime and corruption, on a national and international basis.Board member, Libera Contro le Mafie

Monica Usai is program coordinator for the Italian network Libera -Contro le Mafie where actually she is the coordinator of African desk, manages several EU projects, international campaigns to advocate in the specific the promotion of peace and social justice towards civic engagement as active tool against criminal violence, above all mafia type organisations. International Program Coordinator, Libera Contro le Mafie

Anna Alvazzi del Frate is the 2019-2023 Chair of the Alliance of NGOs on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. She is a Founding Director of Kennis: Knowledge for Safety and Good Governance and Honorary Advisor to the Board of the Organização das Famílias da Ásia e do Pacífico (OFAP). She spent 20 years working for the UN (UNICRI and UNODC), plus nine years at the Small Arms Survey in Geneva. She holds a PhD in criminology and has vast experience in global studies on crime prevention and criminal justice, with a special focus on gender-related matters.

Ingeborg Geyer has been representing ZONTA International at the UN in Vienna since 2010.  Over the years she has been active as board member in various functions at the NGO CSW, CSD, Family, the Alliance of NGOs on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and is currently chairing the Committee on Sustainable Development. Professionally, Ingeborg has been a  lexicographer and linguist at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. She holds a doctor’s degree of the University of Vienna.
