DESCRIPTION:**Call for Participation**  \nCurrent State of Multilingualism at the United Nations  \nDialogue Forum   \n24 April 2026  \nThe NGO Committee on Language and Languages and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) will host a dialogue forum to provide an update about the current state of multilingualism at the United Nations from the perspective of actors engaged in this cause across the UN system\, and to facilitate dialogue among the Group of Friends of Multilingualism and other members of the United Nations community including civil society\, Member States\, and United Nations entities.  Opening remarks will be offered by the Permanent Observer for the International Organization of la Francophonie\, H.E. Mr. Michel Xavier Biang followed by discussion with H.E. Mr. Joan Forner Rovira\, Permanent Representative of Andorra and co-chair of the Group of Friends of Multilingualism.  \n Format  \nThe meeting will take place on 24 April from 09:00-10:00 EDT/New York via Zoom.  Following statements by the featured speakers\, there will be an opportunity for open discussion and questions.   Interpreting is expected to be available in Arabic\, English\, French\, and Spanish as NGO Committee volunteer resources allow.  \nRegistration  \nRepresentatives of NGOs\, UN Secretariat and agency staff\, colleagues from Member States\, scholars\, language professionals\, and others interested in multilingualism are invited to register for the briefing using this general registration form no later than 23 April.  \n***  \n**Appel à participation**\n  \nÉtat actuel du multilinguisme aux Nations Unies  \néance d’information spéciale  \nForum de dialogue  \n24 Avril 2026  \nLe Comité des ONG sur la langue et les langues et l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) organiseront un forum de dialogue afin de fournir une mise à jour sur l’état actuel du multilinguisme aux Nations Unies\, du point de vue des acteurs engagés dans cette cause à travers l’ensemble du système onusien\, et de faciliter le dialogue entre le Groupe des amis du multilinguisme et les autres membres de la communauté des Nations Unies\, y compris la société civile\, les États Membres et les entités des Nations Unies. Les remarques d’ouverture seront présentées par l’Observateur permanent de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie\, S. E. M. Michel Xavier Biang\, suivies d’une discussion avec S. E. M.
