(NEW YORK, October 30, 2025) – TruMerit President and CEO Peter Preziosi has been elected President of the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations, also known as CoNGO.
CoNGO is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1948 that relates to the United Nations through its General Consultative Status granted by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It has 525 member organizations from around the world and 106 associate members.

A busy and demanding agenda will keep delegates engaged at the Twenty-Eighth General Assembly of the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO), which is scheduled to take place both in New York and online from Monday, October 27, to Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
The Twenty-Eighth General Assembly of the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations will receive a different kind of presidential report from its president, Liberato Bautista. The report will feature conversations around the three-part theme of the assembly: Defining the Present, Securing a Shared Future, Asserting Civil Society Participation at the United Nations.
