New York, NY – October 29, 2025 — The Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO) successfully concluded its 28th General Assembly, held from October 27–29, 2025, at the Church Center for the United Nations in New York and online. The Assembly elected 20 organizations to serve on the CoNGO Board.

The new officers and board members are the first group of CoNGO leaders elected through an online voting system. The electronic voting and video broadcast of the assembly increased participation from CoNGO members worldwide. They will oversee CoNGO’s efforts to expand and strengthen civil society engagement with the UN system.

The Assembly elected Dr. Peter Preziosi of TruMerit as president, along with 20 new board members, from which the following officers were appointed:

  • First Vice President: Cyril Ritchie
  • Second Vice President: Wolfgang Beiglboeck
  • Vice Presidents-at-Large: Asociación Latinoamericana para los Derechos Humanos (Juan de Dios Parra) and Pan Pacific South East Asia Women’s Association (Mondhiya Bhangsbha)
  • Treasurer: International Federation of Business and Professional Women (Elizabeth Benham)
  • Secretary: Congressional Black Caucus Institute (Dorothy Davis)

Members elected to the CoNGO Board are non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that hold ECOSOC consultative status and are full members of CoNGO in good standing. Each organization designates its representative(s) to serve on the Board. The new Board members bring extensive expertise and diverse resources to the leadership.
