[registration deadline] 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women

The sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 6 to 17 March 2023 and will consider the priority theme of, “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”. The session will also review the agreed conclusions of the sixty-second session, “Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls”.

Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to contribute to the session.

Registration for ECOSOC-accredited NGOs will be open from 7 October 2022 till 27 January 2023.

Please be advised it is the responsibility of your organization to approve your registration. Upon registering, please contact your organization for approval. Your organization’s designated conference focal point may select the menu item on the left to access the approval area.

Due to space constraints, the numbers of attendees to CSW sessions should be kept to a minimum and should not exceed 20 representatives per organization.

NGO Committee on the Family: Celebrating Family Holiday Traditions

Interfaith Prayer Service: The impact of HIV among the marginalized within the marginalized

Gender and Environment Data Alliance [launch event]

Dear colleagues, 

Writing to share an updated invitation to the launch event of the Gender and Environment Data Alliance (GEDA) at our on the margins of the UN General Assembly and New York Climate Week! This 1 hour, 15 minute hybrid session will feature speakers from several of GEDA’s co-founding members, including UNFCCC, UNFPA, UN Women, Data2X, and the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO).
Governments, feminist organizations, and other interested attendees will be invited to contribute to the discussion and to collectively identify areas for further research and collaboration at the gender-environment data nexus. 
Kindly note that the event itself will be held in English, but the recording will be shared as a GEDA resource, with subtitles in Spanish and French. More details can be found in the concept note, available here

United Nations International Day of Older Persons (IDOP2022)–Commemoration in Vienna

Hybrid Commemoration of the UN International Day of Older Persons

In 1990, the United Nations’ General Assembly voted to establish October 1st as the International Day of Older Persons [IDOP] (GA Res. 45/106). Each year, the Vienna-based NGO Committee on Ageing organises a commemoration event in early October.
This year’s Vienna event will be celebrated in the afternoon of Monday, 3 October 2022 starting at 13:30, in the main hall of the ÖJAB-Haus (Untere Augartenstrasse 31, 1020 Wien).
The UN-wide general theme of the upcoming IDOP commemoration is “The Resilience and Contributions of Older Women”. You and your colleagues may also register to attend in person. However, those wishing to attend via online are kindly asked to register via this Zoom link.
The event starts at 13:30 hours and finishes at 16:00 hours, after which refreshments will be served. There is an opportunity to follow the parallel IDOP event at UN headquarters which starts at 10:00 hours New York time (16:00 hours Vienna time) via a large TV screen at the OJAB-Haus.
